JAMMU:With J&K logging 1,526 new Covid cases on Sunday, authorities ordered closure of all universities, colleges and schools in the Union Territory till May 15.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Mr. Om Prakash Soni today directed to complete the vaccination of Medical Colleges' staff as soon as possible.

BALACHAUR: Classes will start from August at the Agricultural College being set up at Balowal Saunkhari, Regional Research Center, Punjab Agricultural University. This was stated by Member Lok Sabha from Anandpur Sahib and former Union Minister Manish Tewari during a meeting with officials at the Regional Research Center here today in the presence of MLA Balachaur Darshan Lal Mangupur and Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Chairman Pawan Dewan. He said that the first installment of Rs. 13.70 crore has been released by the Punjab government for the construction of this college at a total cost of Rs. 34 crore.

BHOLATHA/KAPURTHALA: As part of a series of events dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji by the Punjab Government, a webinar was organized by the Punjabi Department at Government College Bholath.

NABHA: An online essay writing competition was organized by the History Department of Government Ripudaman College, Nabha as part of a series of programs organized by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Ninth Sikh Master. Students enthusiastically participated in the competition and wrote essays on the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet on Friday decided to keep all educational institutions shut till April 21 to prevent the spread of coronavirus. However, it decided to hold the 'Jan Manch', a once-in-a-month district-level public programme to redress grievances, on April 25.

AMRITSAR: Over 100 staff members including senior teachers were vaccinated at the day-long- anti-Covid-19 Vaccination Camp, organized at Khalsa College Campus here. The camp was organized by the management of the College in collaboration with the Department of Health, said Principal Dr. Mehal Singh.
