MOHALI: In a significant development, a Mohali court on Monday rejected the Punjab Vigilance Bureau’s (VB) application seeking custody of Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who is already in the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a major corruption case. 

FEROZEPUR: In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in a joint operation with Ferozepur Police, has arrested two members of the Ashish Chopra Gang from Ferozepur and recovered 205 grams of heroin from their possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Monday. 

CHANDIGARH: All eyes are on the Mohali court today as it takes up the Punjab Vigilance Bureau’s plea for custody of Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, whose arrest by the CBI in a major corruption case has triggered a political and administrative storm in the state.

CHANDIGARH: A Chandigarh court on Friday granted five-day police remand of Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the high-profile corruption case that has rocked the state police force. Bhullar, who was arrested last week by the CBI on charges of demanding and accepting bribes, will remain in CBI custody till November 6 for further interrogation.

BATHINDA: In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, in a joint operation with Bathinda Police, apprehended a wanted criminal identified as Ranjit Singh alias Sapp of village Bangi Nihal Singh in Bathinda, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Saturday. 

MANSA: In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Mansa Police has apprehended two accused involved in a firing incident took place in Mansa, after a brief exchange of fire, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Friday.
