AMRITSAR: Khalsa College Public School (KCPS) has become the only school in this region to get the status of Sainik School by the Government of India. The Union Ministry of Defence has identified 23 schools all over the country to be approved as new Sainik Schools and KCPS is one amongst those and only second in Punjab, said authorities.

International Nurses Day (IND) was celebrated at Khalsa College of Nursing to mark the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, founder of Nursing Profession on the theme “Nurses, A voice to lead: Health for all”. The function commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Patron-President, All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, Amritsar who was earlier welcomed by Principal on the campus.

The 'Gurpurab’ of Guru Arjun Dev Ji was celebrated at historic Khalsa College’s Gurdwara complex with religious devotion and fervor today. The students from Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College for Women recited hymns from Gurbani and an Ardas (prayer) was performed as the students, staff and teachers gathered in large number for the religious function.

AMRITSAR: The Post Graduate Department of English, Khalsa College Amritsar organised an extension lecture on the famous novel ‘The Flooded Desert’ under the program `Meet The Author’ in which  Prof. (Dr.) Narinder Kumar Neb, an eminent scholar, writer and distinguished teacher of DAV College, Jalandhar graced the occasion.

A day-long-seminar on `Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) : Changing Future of Women' was organized at Khalsa College of Nursing (KCN) here today in collaboration with Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI)’s Punjab State branch. The experts discussed the rising threats PCOS, a hormonal disorderrelating to the health of the women and how they can deal with the same by changing their sedentary life style, food habits and health awareness.
