1700 Students get degrees at Khalsa College’s 114th Convocation

AMRITSAR:At least 1700 students of M.Phil, Post-graduate and Graduate classes today received degrees at historic Khalsa College’s 114th Annual Convocation from Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) President Satyajit Singh Majithia. While stressing that nothing is insurmountable with the right knowledge and information, Majithia emphasized upon the quality education and spiritual way for the 'true meaning’ of life.

Citing various examples of successful lives, Majithia said during his convocation address that the heights are achieved by getting the right kind of education and adopting a positive way of life. “By achieving degrees today your education has not culminated, rather it has begun. Now onwards your teacher would be your life itself, which will teach you lessons to face the challenges”, said Majithia adding that by following the teachings of Gurus and Mahapurush, we make the journey of life easy.

Earlier in his welcome address, KCGC honorary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina said that we remain students throughout life. ``We should never stop learning and the one who feels himself or herself to be the student throughout life is successful”, said he as he congratulated the students for getting the degrees from an illustrious personality like Majithia.

Principal Dr. Mehal Singh read the progress report of the college citing the achievements of students in academics, cultural activities and sports. He said that under the able leadership of KCGC, the College had progressed beyond means and students excelled in annual examinations as well as in sports activities. He also congratulated the students who got degrees, medals and meritorious certificates today.
