Guru Ram Das Gurpurab celebrated with religious fervor at Khalsa College

AMRITSAR: The `Gurpurab’ of Sri Guru Ram Das Ji, Sikhs’ fourth Guru was today celebrated with religious fervor and devotion at Khalsa College campus by Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC). The Gurdwara Sahib was tastefully decorated and Bhai Karaj Singh and his associates recited hymns from Gurbani with their mesmerising Gurmat sangeet.

The teacher and staff members, adopting the social-distancing due to the ongoing Covid-19 scenario, gathered in large number at Gurdwara Sahib. Dr. Inderjit Singh Gagoani, a renowned name in Sikh circles and former head of Sikh History Research Centre of the College gave an account of Guru’s life history, philosophy and directives.

KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina wished one and all on the occasion and said Guru’s life of righteousness and simplicity was most relevant in the strife-torn world today. He said Guru Ram Das ji who founded Amritsar then also known as Chak Ramdaspur, was a specimen of high ideals and philosophy.

He asked devotees (Sangat) to follow the path shown by the Guru. KCGC joint secretary Ajmer Singh Heir, Principal Jagdish Singh, Members Sukhdev Singh Abdal, Paramjeet Singh Bal, Gurpreet Singh Gill, Principal, Khalsa College, Dr. Mehal Singh, Principal Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh, Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur, S. AS Gill, Dr. Surinderpal Kaur Dhillon, Dr. Harbhajan Singh, Dr. RK Dhawan, S. Nanak Singh, Puneet Kaur Nagpal, Gurinderjeet Kaur, Nirmaljeet Kaur Principals of various institutions under the Society and heads of other departments, teachers and students were present in large number.
