Danny Bandala assures of continuous support till justice is served
CHANDIGARH: All India Congress Committee Secretary and former MLA Sukhwinder Singh Danny Bandala met the bereaved family of Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar today, expressing deep condolences and solidarity with their fight for justice. Bandala asserted that the tragic circumstances surrounding Puran Kumar’s death expose grave failures in the Haryana BJP government and the systemic bias ingrained against Dalits.
“The forced suicide of a distinguished Dalit IPS officer points to a toxic, anti-Dalit establishment, ” Bandala declared, demanding an impartial, high-level probe and stringent action against all officials involved. He emphasized the urgent need for decisive action in response to the demands raised by officer’s wife, IAS Amneet P. Kumar, pledging unwavering Congress support and protection for all Dalits against harassment.
“Congress will fight on every front to secure justice for Puran Kumar. This is not just his struggle, but the struggle of every Indian who trusts the Constitution, ” Bandala stated. He condemned the BJP’s divisive politics and Manuvadi mindset for fostering an environment where marginalized officers face humiliation simply due to their caste.
Referencing recent incidents—Hariom Valmiki’s murder in Rae Bareli, the insult of Supreme Court Chief Justice B.R. Gavai, and Purn Kumar’s suicide—Bandala highlighted the rising wave of injustice against Dalits, Adivasis, backward communities, and Muslims. “Today, hope for justice among the marginalized is fading. Our fight is for constitutional equality and justice for all, ” he concluded.
