KAITHAL: A 25-year-old prisoner allegedly died of suicide as he was found hanging with a towel on the bars of the barrack on Monday morning in Kaithal District Jail.
The deceased has been identified as Balvindra Kumar, resident of Peedal village of this district.who was in jail for the last three years in a murder case. When the prisoners woke up on Monday morning, they found Balvindra hanging with a towel on the bars of the barrack. As soon as information about the incident was received, the jail administration immediately informed the police.
ASI Naresh said that the body was sent to Civil Hospital Kaithal for postmortem. After the completion of the proceedings there, body was handed over to his family members. Police said that Balvindra was accused of murder of a businessman from Cheeka in the year 2022. It is said that he had started a business in partnership with a trader but disputes regarding financial transactions increased.
Balvindra, along with his associates, murdered the businessman after he committed fraud. He was in jail for the last three years in the case. At present, the police have inspected the incident site and started necessary investigation. The jail administration has sent the report of the case to higher officials. Further action is being taken in the matter.
