Samagra Shiksha Chandigarh organized state-level Samavesh Utsav for children with special needs.

CHANDIGARH: Inclusive education is one of the central goals of Samagra Shiksha, which aims to identify and enroll children with disabilities in schools to provide them with need support services and to equip them with essential life skills to overcome societal challenges.

As part of this initiative, Skill Training was conducted for all the schools at cluster level. In continuation to this,  Samagra Shiksha Chandigarh organized the State-Level Samavesh Utsav at GMSSS-21, Chandigarh on Friday with the objective of promoting inclusive education and empowering Children with Special Needs (CWSN).

The event was graced by Nitish Singla, Director of School Education, as the chief guest along with officials from Education Department. The dignitaries appreciated the dedicated efforts made by schools and teachers, for their commitment to special students in an inclusive set up. A total of 85 students received aids and appliances, enhancing their accessibility, learning

opportunities and mobility support. The distribution aimed to promote greater independence among CWSN across Chandigarh. A skill-training exhibition was also set up, showcasing the creative work and vocational abilities cultivated by the students. The program commenced with the ceremonial welcome of guests, followed by a vibrant Group

Dance presented by students of GMHS-50.Five students were presented smartphones to enhance their digital learning. One of the major highlights was the recognition of National-Level Special Olympic

Achievements, including:

• Ms. Priya, Gold Medalist in Badminton (June 2025), representing GMSSS-21

• Mr. Dipanshu Dev, from GMSSS56, Gold Medalist in Table Tennis at the National Level and

• Mr Prince, GMHS 24 A selected for National Level Cycling Competition.

The dignitaries congratulated the achievers, motivating all students to pursue their goals with determination. They also extended appreciation to ALIMCO for partnering with the Education Department in this meaningful initiative.

Mrs. Sukhpal Kaur, Principal, GMSSS-21, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing hope that the aids and appliances provided would significantly support students in their journey toward independence and excellence.
