Major Action Against Drug Mafia in Dehra: Over 3.6 kg Hashish, Cash, and Illegal Liquor Seized

DHARAMSALA: In a major crackdown under the Drug-Free Himachal campaign, Dehra Police achieved their biggest success since the formation of the new police district. Acting on a tip-off, police teams conducted simultaneous raids at 10 locations on Saturday, leading to significant seizures in two major cases.

According to the Superintendent of Police, Dehra, a team led by SDPO Dadasiba Rajkumar raided the residence of Ram Pal, son of Vishambar Das, resident of Ward No. 2,  Surajpur,  Dhaliara (Tehsil Dehra). Although the accused initially fled, police searched the house in the presence of independent witnesses and the accused’s parents. The search led to the recovery of:

3 kg 628 grams of hashish, ₹64, 544 in cash, A weighing machine, Valuable jewellery, and other incriminating items.

Police later combed nearby forests, fields, and drains, eventually arresting the accused.

In another operation, a separate team led by SHO Dehra, Inspector Ajay Kumar, recovered 16 bottles of VRV Santra country liquor from the possession of Ashok Kumar, son of Khushi Ram, resident of village Chanan Khurd, post office Paisa (Tehsil Dehra).

Cases have been registered under the NDPS Act and Excise Act respectively. Further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
