KAITHALWith the aim of promoting road safety on the occasion of New Year, a free helmet distribution program for invaluable life safety was organized by Sigma Group Kaithal on Thursday at Pehowa Chowk. Superintendent of Police Upasana participated in the program as the chief guest.

On this occasion, DSP Sushil Prakash, traffic station in-charge Inspector Satpal, other officers and employees of traffic police and members of Sigma Group were also present. During the program, free helmets were distributed to two-wheeler drivers by SP Upasana and the drivers who followed the traffic rules were also honored with roses by the traffic police. The objective of this initiative was to make the general public aware of traffic rules and to reduce the loss of lives in road accidents.

SP Upasana, while addressing the drivers present, said that the biggest reason for the death of two-wheeler drivers in road accidents is not wearing helmets. During any accident, helmet protects the head from serious injury and plays an important role in saving life. He clarified that helmet should be worn not only to avoid challan, but to protect one's precious life. She said that Kaithal Police conducts awareness programs as well as initiates legal action from time to time to ensure compliance with traffic rules, but unless the common citizens themselves become aware, it is not possible to bring the expected reduction in road accidents.

SP Upasana appealed to the general public to completely follow the traffic rules while driving, wear helmet compulsorily on two-wheelers and motivate others for safe driving, so that road accidents can be effectively controlled.
