3 employees including Deputy Superintendent of Public Health department caught taking bribe.

KAITHAL: Taking major action against corruption in Kaithal, the Anti Corruption Bureau has arrested three employees including the Deputy Superintendent of the Public Health Department red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 30, 000.

It is alleged that this bribe was demanded in exchange for passing pending bills worth about Rs 35 lakh. Vishal, a resident of village Kyodak , had complained to the Anti Corruption Bureau that he had done many works in the Public Health Department including painting, repairing leakages, but the bills for these works were pending for many years. Vishal alleges that the documents of his work done in the year 2016 are also lying with him. They have been blackmailing him and wanted money. Whenever he went to Deputy Superintendent of the department Kamal Kant to get his bills passed, he was asked for money.

According to the plan, Vishal gave Rs 20, 000 to Deputy Superintendent Kamal Kant and Rs 5, 000 each to draftsman Ashok employed under Haryana Skill Employment Corporation. Ashok has also taken money in the name of computer operator Baljeet. As soon as the accused took the bribe amount, the alert Anti Corruption Bureau team raided the spot and caught all three. There was a stir in the department after the arrest. After being caught, Deputy Superintendent Kamal Kant became emotional and was seen saying that he was wrongly implicated.

Inspector Sube Singh Saini of Kaithal Anti Corruption Bureau said that preliminary investigation has revealed that this bribe was demanded in exchange for passing the bill. Papers related to the complaint have been recovered from the Deputy Superintendent. The Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case against the three accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act and started further investigation.
