KAITHAL: The police have arrested third shooter allegedly involved in the Chowki Anaj Mandi police firing incident in front of the liquor vend located at Jakholi Adda on the night of 19 February.
Giving information, SP Upasana said that as per the complaint of Amit, resident of Balraj Nagar, Kaithal, at around 9:30 pm on February 19, Rahul, resident of Janakpuri Colony, Kaithal, had gone to Jakholi Adda with him in the car of liquor vendor. Rahul went inside the shop to collect the cash, while Amit remained sitting on the conductor seat of the car. Meanwhile, Sandeep, a resident of Mataur, came there and fired at Amit with the country-made pistol he was holding in his hand, which missed. After this Sandeep fired second shot, due to which Amit stepped back to avoid it and the bullet hit the driver's seat. At the same time, a young man present with Sandeep threatened Amit to come out. Amit went to the back seat and ran away from the window of the car. considering seriousness of the case, special teams were formed from CIA-1, AVT, SDU and city police and orders were given to arrest the accused. Acting on the orders, the police teams, besides arresting the accused Kuldeep resident of Mataur Hall Star City Colony Kaithal, also detained a minor of about 17 years of age resident of Janakpuri Colony Kaithal. Accused Kuldeep has been taken on police remand till Monday. During further investigation of the case, accused Pradeep, resident of Harsaula, was arrested by the team of SI Ramesh Kumar under the leadership of Outpost Anaj Mandi police in-charge ASI Jaibhagwan. It was revealed in the case that in February 2014, Amit, along with Rahul, resident of Dayalpur, had murdered Mandeep, resident of Matore, due to an old rivalry in the police station.
Regarding which a case has been filed in GRP police station Kurukshetra. Both the accused in the said case were acquitted in the year 2015. Due to this rivalry, in a planned manner, Sandeep, resident of Mataur Hall Sugar Mill, Kaithal (brother of deceased Mandeep), along with his associate Kuldeep and others, carried out a fatal attack on Amit by firing at him. Accused Pradeep was also involved in the said firing conspiracy and the racket of Amit was done by Pradeep. The accused was sent to judicial custody on Sunday as per the court order.
