KAITHAL: A case of big fraud has come to light in Kaithal, in which two persons duped a young man of Rs 70 lakh in the name of sending him abroad. The accused had lured the young man to send him to America and even assured him that upon reaching there he would be provided citizenship and permanent work. But after taking huge amount, the accused neither fulfilled their promises nor returned the amount. On the contrary, they threatened to kill the victim if he asked for the money back. On the complaint of the victim, Civil Line police station has registered a case and started investigation.

Anil, a resident of village Sanghan, in his complaint to the police stated that about a year ago he wanted to go abroad. During this time, he met Satnam, a resident of Kaithal, and his associate, who claimed to be involved in sending youth abroad. During the conversation, the accused talked about sending Anil to America for Rs 70 lakh and also claimed that they would get him citizenship and permanent employment there. Trusting his assurance, Anil gave him Rs 70 lakh in a phased manner. But as soon as the money was received, the behavior of the accused changed. Neither any process was initiated nor the paperwork was taken forward. As time passed, when Anil demanded to send him abroad or return the money, the accused started avoiding him . Later they threatened that if he demanded his money back, he would have to face consequences.
