SC allows trust to operate banks accounts to pay bills, taxes

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has permitted the Maharwal Khewaji Trust, which manages the Rs 20,000-crore property of erstwhile princely state of Faridkot, to operate bank accounts to pay salaries to staff and meet expenses on utilities bills and taxes etc.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the meeting was an extension of the previous meeting and all the states spoke on the issue of borrowing and extension of the compensation cess, and clarifications were sought by the states on specific points.

58 new Covid cases in Taj city, death toll reaches 132

AGRA:As life appears limping back to near normalcy, Agra reported its 132nd death and 58 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
District Magistrate P.N. Singh said the total number of cases now stood at 6,365, of which 5,648 had recovered. The number of active cases was 585, while the number of samples collected is 2,18,586.
