CHANDIGARH: A gangster identified as Inderpreet Singh alias Parry was shot dead in sector 26 here Monday morning. He was linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi group and was gunned down in a planned attack near the busy Timber Market stretch.

Police believed it was a case of gang war and internal dispute of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Parry a resident of sector 33 was involved in many criminal cases and had got married in mid November.

A detailed reconstruction from CCTV footage and forensic findings shows that the murder was executed with pre-planned precision — first by a shooter seated inside the victim’s car, and then by accomplices in a trailing white Hyundai Creta who fired additional shots to ensure he was dead.

Police said that about 7 gunshots hit the victim. Firstly, he was shot by a man who was seen with the deceased walking to his car. He shot Parry from inside his Kia. A total of 11 rounds were fired — five inside the car and six from outside by three to four assailants who came in a Creta.

The victim who was in mid-30s was Wanted for multiple cases of murder, extortion and illegal arms across Punjab and Chandigarh, he was currently out on bail. A social media post later claimed that Parry had started working for Goldy Brar and Bambiha gangs. He was a shooter.

Police has collected forensic evidence from the site. The assailants had sped away towards Haryana dn non of them is yet identified. It was shocking that police failed to track the movement of so many gangsters moving freely in the city.
