Criminal associated with gangster carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 held by Haryana Police

CHANDIGARH: In a major break-through, Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police has arrested a criminal, associated with Sampat Nehra, a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi from Kurukshetra district. Police has also recovered an illegal pistol and five cartridges from his possession.

It is pertinent to mention here that the arrested accused, identified as Manjinder Singh who carries a bounty of Rs 25, 000, had enrolled in the Khalsa College, Chandigarh in 2016, where he came in contact with the gangster Sampat Nehra, who helped him in electing as President of the College. Manjinder has been in contact with gangster Lawrence since 2016 and had committed many incidents of crime.

About a dozens of cases pertaining to attempt to murder, extortion, assault, fraud and under Arms Act were registered against him in Kurukshetra and Chandigarh. A team of STF Ambala had nabbed him after getting a secret input.

Divulging the details, spokesperson said that STF Ambala team during patrolling had got secret information about presence of wanted and rewarded criminal near village Kumhar Majra. Soon after getting input, the team immediately swung into action and nabbed the accused with illegal weapons.

A case has been filed against the arrested accused. He is taken on police remand by producing in the court. Further probe is underway.
