NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday outlined the government's commitment and resolve to achieve the goal of developed India and said that building a country with empowered and prosperous farmers remains the key focus of his governance.

CHANDIGARH: In bid to ensure uninterrupted potable water supply in rural areas in the state, Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Department has set up first of its kind solar-based water supply projects at Jagrawan-Muradpur and Talwara villages of Jalandhar district under “Har Ghar Paani, Har Ghar Safai” mission. The panchayats of these villages felt relieved as their Jal Ghars’ electricity bills have come down to zero.

Notably, arsenic and iron removal plants have already been setup in 102 villages of Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Gurdaspur districts.
