Two villages booked for attacking police constable on sentry duty

LOHIAN:The Lohian Khas police have booked two villagers on the charges of
attacking a police constable on sentry duty in front of police station.
The investigating officer (IO) Pargat Singh said that the accused have
been identified as Lakhvir Singh a resident of Fateh Pur Bhangwan
village and Bindar Singh alias Gurprit Singh a resident of Fukiwal(
Shahjahan Pur) village under Sultan Pur Lodhi police station..
Senior constable Rannjit Singh said in his statement that he was on
sentry when two clean shaven young men knocked at gate around 8.30 PM
and said they have a problem. He said that when he asked them what is
problem they roared that police station is theirs and who is he to ask
them such questions,
Rannjit Singh said that the accused were in an inebriated condition
and Bindar tried to snatch his weapon and Gurprit tore his uniform
saying they have contacts with gangsters threatening to kill him
adding that when other staff members came there the accused misbehaved
with them and thus interfered in their duties
IO said that a case under sections332(voluntarily causing hurt to
deter public servant from his duty) 353(criminal force to deter public
servant from discharge of his duty) 186(obstructing public servant in
discharge of public functions) 323(voluntarily causing hurt ) 506
(criminal intimidation ) 511(punishment for attempting to commit
offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment
...) and 34(committing crime with common intention ) of the IPC has
been registered against the accused and further investigations are
on.
