PATIALA:To carry forward the Mission Fateh 2.0 initiated by Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh , in the name of 'COVID Mukt Pind Abhiyan' to the rural masses, Commissioner Patiala Division, Chander Gaind today visited villages Assarpur and Bollar Kalan, alongwith DC Kumar Amit and SDM Charanjit Singh.
Sensitising the rural population of the grim COVID situation in the district, Mr Gaind urged them to come forward for testing and vaccination to contain the spread of CORONAVIRUS. He said that now the time has come to be serious towards a normal fever and cough too by getting ourselves tested against COVID. "As early we would be tested, the sooner we will get start our treatment and get rid of it, " said the Commissioner Mr Gaind by adding that most of cases have been getting cured in home isolation. He exhorted the panchayats of both villages to get the eligible residents Vaccinated to make their respective villages free of
COVID infection.
Meanwhile, interacting with the villagers virtually, MP Mrs Preneet Kaur while underlining the need to sensitize the rural population about the harmful effects of corona and the importance of early detection and treatment to save precious lives, said this could only be done through special awareness campaigns lead by Village Panchayats and Prominent Persons. Urging the residents to take care of their fellow residents, she said that we should treat it as our prime duty to sensitise the symptomatic people for getting testing done and helping them to fight COVID-19.
Deputy Commissioner, Kumar Amit, said that as per the special campaign, launched by the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, to make our villages CORONA free, a special incentive grant of Rs 10 lakh has also been announced for the villages having 100 percent vaccination done. Apart from that, Panchayats have also been authorised to spend a sum upto Rs 50, 000 for curbing the spread of CORONAVIRUS in their villages.
