Liquor mafia is active in Punjab despite anti-drug campaign by AAP government
AMRITSAR: The illicit liquor has claimed at least 14 people and 6 others are admitted in hospital in villages Bhangali, dhariwal nd Madi Kalan in Majitha sub division of Amritsar district of Punjab.
The Amritsar police has arrested the main supplier Sahib Singh and five others including a woman involved in making illicit liquor. It is reported that more people in the area are showing symptoms of uneasiness and vomit and being admitted in hospitals. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni and SSP rural Satinder Singh reached the spot and making door to door checking to identify more victims.
Ther investigation has revealed that certain victims who died yesterday were creamted without giving information to police. The death toll is expected to rise.
