Sub-Divisional Magistrates Appointed as Nodal Officers
SANGRUR: Despite the easing of tensions between India and Pakistan, the safety of the people remains a priority and to promptly handle any emergency situation, Quick Response Teams have been formed in Sangrur district. Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) have been appointed as the nodal officers for these teams in their respective subdivisions.
Sharing this information, Amit Bamby, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Magistrate, stated that
these teams will respond immediately upon receiving a message from the Emergency Control Room, Sangrur.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrates will establish shift-wise backup teams to ensure 24x7 operations. These teams will reach the incident site immediately, cordon off the area, and act according to the prescribed guidelines, informing the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur.
The Civil Surgeon, Sangrur, will assign a minimum of two ambulances per team in 12-hour shifts, ensuring 24x7 availability. These ambulances will reach the designated location within five minutes of receiving a message.
Similarly, the District Fire Officer will deploy fire brigades with the teams in 12-hour shifts, operating 24x7 and responding within five minutes of receiving a message.
