MUMBAI: England pacer Brydon Carse has been ruled out of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to an injury. He will be replaced by South Africa's pace-bowling all-rounder Wiaan Mulder in Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) squad. Mulder will join SRH for Rs 75 lakh. He has played 11 T20Is in addition to 18 Tests and 25 ODIs. He has picked up 60 wickets in international cricket and has scored 970 international runs.

MUMBAI: The flow of funds from Indians working overseas into non-resident Indian (NRI) bank accounts has shot up by 42.8 per cent to $13.33 billion between April and December 2024, compared to $9.33 billion during the same period in 2023, according to the latest figures compiled by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

As per the decision these courts will be set up at Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Moga and Ludhiana. This will ensure smooth dispensation of justice to the NRI brethren thereby giving a big relief to them.

CHANDIGARH: As the state prepared to handle a large influx of NRIs from other nations and stranded people from across the country, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday issued a series of directives to check the spread of the deadly Covid, including strict directives to the Health Department to ensure mandatory screening of all such returnees, with institutional quarantine for those coming back from high-risk regions of India, and hotel/home quarantine for the NRIs.

NAWANSHAHR: With the arrest of six persons including three women, the district police today claimed to have solved the murder of Balvir Singh, 60, of Khatkar Kalan, near Banga. Balvir Singh was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the morning of January 17 at his residence and the police had registered a case on the statement of Amarjit Kaur, wife of the deceased. The deceased had returned from Lebanon around one month ago. He had been residing in Lebanon for the past 23—24 years.
