Two booked for attempt to fraudulently sell NRI’s land

NURMAHAL:The Nurmahal police have booked two persons on the charges of attempt to fraudulently sell NRI’s land
The investigating officer (IO) Paramjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Balraj Singh son of Daljit Singh a a resident of Hardo Seikh village and Bahadar Singh son of Pritam Singh a a resident of Aulakh village in Nakodar .

Charanjit Singh Johal an England based NRI and a native of Kacha Pacca Vehra Nurmahal approached the NRI commission alleging that Balraj Singh tried to fraudulently sell their land situated in Bath village.

The commission in its order directed Jalandhar (rural) police for detailed inquiry.

Johal said in his complaint that Balraj Singh along with Bahadar Singh without their consent reached a sale agreement to sell their 149 kanals 16 marlas land in Bath village with two persons and received Rs 10.5 lakhs as earnest money but had to return it when purchasing party raised doubts and insisted on sale deed by original landowners.

IO said that Nakodar deputy superintendent of police inquired the matter and the senior superintendent of police ordered registration of case and a case under section 420(cheating ) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and further investigations are on.
