AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University successfully organized high-profile Two-days symposium, “Fuels of the Future: Powering Sustainable Mobility”.
The two-day event served as a critical platform for academia and industry to deliberate on low-carbon solutions and the evolution of the global transport sector. Supported by the Centre for Agricultural Research and Innovation (CARI) and RUSA 2.0, the symposium featured intensive technical sessions on biofuels, biomethane, e-fuels, and renewable mobility. The event, organized by Coordinator, Dr. Meenu Hans, Assistant professor and Chairman, Dr. Pratap Kumar Pati, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, emphasized the role of young researchers in driving the next generation of energy innovation.
“These deliberations have not only enriched our technical understanding but have laid the groundwork for new collaborations in the field of circular bioeconomy, ” noted the organizing team. The event also organised the paper presentation competition among bachelors, masters, Ph.D scholars and faculty of colleges/ universities.
The winners of Poster presentation were announced as Pragati Bhardwaj, Himkar Anand, Seema, Dharmendera, Prabhleen Kaur. Whereas Winners of Oral presentation were announced as Ms. Shambhavi Jha, Ms. Suman Salhotra, Mr. Shivang Awasthi, Dr. Madhuka Roy, Ms. Gunjan, Ms. Aarti, Dr. Akansha. Further, Students of B.Sc Biotechnology Namely Vanshika and Taranpreet Kaur led by Dr. Vikas Gupta, Head of the Department from DAV College, Amritsar were awarded as Budding Scientists. The symposium was concluded by Chief Guest, Dr. Aparana Maitra, IHBT, Palampur. The event concluded with a call to action for increased investment in sustainable transport infrastructure and fostered networking opportunities intended to drive regional innovation in renewable energy.
