AMRITSAR: Khalsa University, Amritsar (KUA) organized a one-day AI awareness workshop on “Artificial Intelligence in Mentoring, Advising and Peer Learning” and Use of Chatbots in Mentoring, advisnings and Peer learning as part of the official Pre-Summit activities for the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The event took place at the Seminar Hall, Khalsa College Women, (KCW) Amritsar.
The workshop was conducted in alignment with the objectives of the India AI Mission, launched by the Government of India to strengthen the nation’s AI ecosystem and support the broader visions of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat. The programme adhered strictly to the UGC and Ministry of Education guidelines for organizing institutional Pre-Summit events ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on February 19–20, 2026.
The resource person of the workshop was Dr. Deepika Kohli, Assistant Professor, Khalsa College of Education (KCE), G. T. Road, Amritsar and Educational Consultant, France. The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students.
The students were apprised with different AI tools that could be used in learning varied lessons, facilitating them to bring improved result outcomes. The resource person provided a thorough guidance to students regarding tools like, chatbot, google docs, gemini, ABC, etc, guiding them at the same time to maintain ethics of using such tools.The role of digital platforms like SWAYAM and collaborative tools for peer learning was also emphasized.
In the second session, Dr. Deepika guided the faculty members as to how tools like moodle, canva, google classroom, padlet could reinforce learning outcomes and make teaching a comparatively efficient process. The event was organized under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Rajinder Mohan Singh Ji Chhinna, Pro Chancellor, and Dr. Mehal Singh, Vice Chancellor, KUA with academic leadership provided by Dr. Surinder Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs, KUA.
