H.S. Mattewal Memorial Moot Court Competition concludes at RBU

MOHALI: he University School of Law, Rayat Bahra University successfully organised the H.S. Mattewal Memorial National Moot Court Competition, 2026 on drawing participation from 20 teams representing leading law institutions across the country. The event provided a vibrant national platform for aspiring legal professionals to hone their advocacy, research, and courtroom skills.

The two-day competition featured rigorous preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds, where participants displayed exceptional legal acumen, analytical ability, and articulation.
The team from O.P. Jindal Global University emerged as the overall winner, securing a cash prize of Rs 21, 000 along with certificates of appreciation. The runner-up position was claimed by Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, which received Rs 11, 000 and certificates.

The final round was adjudged by an eminent panel comprising Justice Rajiv Sharma former acting chief justice Uttarakhand high court, Justice H.S. Sidhu former judge, Dr. Trisha Sharma, Dr. Deepak Jindal, and Joginder singh Mann. Their expert observations and constructive feedback significantly enriched the participants’ learning experience.

The valedictory session was graced by Justice Alok Jain as Chief Guest. Gurvinder Singh Bahra lauded the initiative, stating that such platforms are essential for shaping competent and confident legal professionals.
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar remarked that moot court exercises play a vital role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Advocate Pavit Singh Mattewal also presided over the session, appreciating the organisers and encouraging students to uphold professionalism and integrity in the legal field.

Dean Dr. Akhilesh Ranaut expressed heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organisers for contributing to the success of the event, which concluded on an inspiring note.
