Khalsa College Youth Festival’ Concludes, Khalsa College Bags Over All Trophy

AMRITSAR: The two-day long 10th Khalsa College Youth Festival concluded here today with the Khalsa College bagging overall trophy while Khalsa College of Education remained first and Khalsa College for Women bagging second runner up positions. Hundreds of students from all the Colleges under Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) exhibited their talent during various competitions during the festival.

Chief guest Pro-Chancellor of Khalsa University (KU) and honorary secretary, KCGC Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina said that the aim of such festivals is to tap the hidden talents of the students apart from the curricular knowledge. “Such events provide a platform to the students to hone their real talent. Therefore, such competitions are very necessary in the institutions”, said he.

Events that marked the festival included music, theatre, literary and fine arts categories. On this occasion, KU VC Dr. Mehal Singh said that the Governing Council has always been committed to the all-round development of the students and events like the Youth Festival are a living example of this commitment. Dean Dr. Surinder Kaur emphasized on the commitment of Khalsa institutions towards the intellectual and creative potential.

KCA Principal Dr. Atam Singh Randhawa highlighted the importance of such festivals in shaping confident and well-rounded personalities and appreciated the organizing team for successfully hosting the grand program. The competitions were evaluated by a panel of judges including Ramesh Bhagat, Dr. Shivani, Karamjot, Harleen Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Sudesh Winkle, Dr. Paramjit Kaur, Mansi, Navdeep Kaur, Brajesh Jolly, Amandeep Singh, Narinder Singh, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Harpriya Kaur, Anudeep Kaur, Manpreet Singh Jagdev, Amarinderjit Singh, Dr. Navjit Singh Dhaliwal and Amanpal Singh.

KU Registrar Dr. Khushvinder Kumar, Examination Controller Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, Council Member Davinder Singh Chhina, Tejinder Kaur Chhina, Principal of Khalsa College Chawinda Devi Gurdev Singh, Principal of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College for Women Dr. Laxmi Malhotra along with staff and students of various colleges were present.
