A Hand Book for Neo-Vets and a Student Magazine Vet Vizion Released at KCVAS

AMRITSAR: The Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS), Amritsar organized a special function for the release of a book titled “A Hand Book for Neo-Vets”. The book was formally released by Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Honorary Secretary of Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGG), in the presence of faculty members and representatives of the Khalsa Charitable Trust.

The book “A Hand Book for Neo-Vets” is the first book authored collectively by the faculty of KCVAS. The book is the collection of various lectures/workshops covering all aspects of Veterinary and Animal science including Husbandry part. Designed especially for fresh veterinary graduates, the handbook provides a concise yet comprehensive overview of veterinary and animal sciences, covering essential aspects ranging from Veterinary Anatomy to Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC). It is a sort of handy book/tool that can be kept with Vets on their side/table for ready reference. This publication aims to serve as a practical guide for newly graduated veterinarians as they begin their professional journey. On this occasion, the first issue of the students magazine “Vet Vizion” was also released.

The magazine is the result of students creative and academic efforts and has been launched as an e-magazine on a digital platform. It can be accessed through the college website under the “Vet Vizion- Student Corner.” The initiative encourages students to share their ideas, achievements, and perspectives related to veterinary education and the livestock sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Chhina congratulated Dr. H. K. Verma, Principal, KCVAS and his team of faculty members for their dedicated efforts in authoring the book and promoting academic initiatives like the student magazine. He appreciated the institution for continuously striving to strengthen veterinary education and student engagement thus, making the occasion a memorable academic milestone for the institution. Further on the same day KCVAS signature as Knowledge, Commitment, Veterinary Excellence, Animal Welfare, Service to Society decoding KCVAS was also unveiled. Furthermore, KCVAS is running a 24x7 Veterinary Hospital, laced with modern diagnostic cum treatment facilities for the small & large animals.

Anyone can bring their pet or domestic animals for the treatment or get their Blood, Urine, Faeces, Skin etc. tested and useful management related advice. Also the pet owners can contact the Hospital (Ph. 01832994595) for any sort of training for scientific rearing of pet animals (Dog, Cat, Birds etc.)
