AMRITSAR: Faculty Development Program was organized at Khalsa College of Nursing. The said program was organized on the topic of ‘Ethical and Statistical Rigor in Research’ under the leadership of College Principal Dr. Amanpreet Kaur, and Khalsa University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mehal Singh attended as the chief guest.
On this occasion, Dr. Mehal Singh, while explaining the need of the said program in the present scientific era, highly appreciated the organizers of the program. He said that the main objective of the program was to promote the principles of honesty, trustworthiness and safety of participants and consent in the field of research and to provide a clear guidance for the researchers.
Giving information, Amanpreet Kaur said that during the said program, among the speakers from various institutions, Principal Dr. Manpreet Kaur from Sri Guru Ramdas College of Nursing, Professor Shivani Kalra from Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha College of Nursing, Ludhiana, Assistant Professor Dr. Manpreet Singh from Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College, Professor Dr. Navjot Kaur from Guru Nanak Dev University shared their views with the audience regarding ethical challenges in the field of research, new techniques of data analysis and parametric tests, ethical rules in bio-medical research. She said that more than 50 representatives from various nursing colleges of Punjab participated in the said program. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Amanpreet Kaur along with the staff also honored Dr. Mehal Singh by presenting a memento. Apart from the program participants Samita Inosh, Anukiranjit Kaur, Mehrin Kosar etc., other staff and students were present.
