AMRITSAR: With a view to rope in its world-wide alumni, the historic Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) today announced re-formation of Khalsa College Amritsar Global Alumni Association (KCAGAA). Five-time Canadian MP Sukh Dhaliwal, IPS (rtd) Mukhwinder Singh Chhina, noted sports star Kartar Singh Pahalwan, PAU Vice-Chancellor (Rtd) Dr.BS Dhillon were some other prominent names announced to be office-bearers.
KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who is Chief Patron of the Alumni Association, stated that the tenure of the office bearers and members of various committees has been extended for another two years. He said the decision aims to reinforce institutional connections with alumni in India and abroad and to enhance their participation in academic, cultural, and developmental initiatives of the College.
KCGC President Satyajit Singh Majithia, Khalsa University VC Dr. Mehal Singh, Khalsa College Principal Dr. Atam Singh Randhawa, will also serve as Chief Patrons of the Association. The Patrons also include Bakhshish Singh Sandhu (USA) and Kuldeep Singh Sandhu (Canada) while Bhupinder Singh Holland (Netherland), Gurinderpal Singh Josan (New York), Mehtab Singh Kahlon (Washington), Joga Singh Sandhu (Dallas), Gurvarinder Kaur Sandhu (Bensalem), Prof. Shamir Singh (BC), Daljit Singh Sandhu (California), Gulvir Singh Saini (Perth), Prabh Gill (Alberta), Jatinder Singh Cheema (Calgary), Gurcharan Singh Dhillon (Seattle), will be Directors/Coordinators of various International chapters.
Convenor of the body will be Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina, an exponent of international cultural exchange programs said the management reposed faith in them to lead the Association. He said the forum will play a vital role in fostering alumni engagement, facilitating knowledge exchange, and contributing to the global stature of 1892-built Khalsa College, Amritsar through international collaborations. Co-Convenor will be DS Rataul while Harpreet Singh Bhatti and Kulwinder Singh Chhina (Canada) were designated as Media Coordinators.
