CHANDIGARH: University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), Canada, and Panjab University, Chandigarh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a dual degree programme in Bachelor of Business Administration.
The MoU was signed by PU Registrar Prof Y P Verma and UFV President and Vice Chancellor Dr James Mandigo in presence of PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig at the PU campus here today. PU Dean of University Instruction Prof Yojna Rawat, Ms Karen Natho, UFV Instructor and Lecturer; UFV Country Lead, International Student Success Mr Saheb Pal Singh; UFV Associate Director, Mr Tushar Gajwani, PU Dean International Students Prof Kewal Krishan, Director UIAMS Prof Anupreet Kaur Mavi, Prof Monika Aggarwal, Director Public Relations Dr. Vineet Punia and number of officers were also present on the occasion.
The MoU provides for the establishment of a BBA Dual Degree Programme at the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, PU. Eligible students of PU will secure direct admission to the third year of the BBA programme at UFV. Students enrolled in the integrated BBA–MBA programme at PU will also have the option to complete the third and fourth year of the BBA degree at UFV. On fulfilling the prescribed academic requirements, students will receive degrees from both institutions.
Earlier, PU Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig welcomed the delegation and said international academic partnerships strengthen educational standards and widen global exposure for students. She described the collaboration as a major step towards expanding overseas learning pathways. She also suggested exploring academic engagement of UFV with the PU’s Institute for Social Science Education and Research (PU-ISSER).
UFV Vice Chancellor Dr Mandigo thanked the PU authorities and referred to the nearly two-decade association between the two leading institutions of India and Canada. He expressed confidence that the dual degree programme would deepen academic ties and create new avenues for students.
