KAITHAL: The United Kisan Morcha will hold a big demonstration on 26 January and extend support to the national strike of trade unions on 12 February 2026.
In a press release issued here today , Jasbir Singh, the leader of the United Kisan Morcha, the district head of the Kisan Sabha said here today that a union delegation comprising Naresh Rehda , CITU representatives Mahendra Singh and other farmers leaders met Kaithal DC Dr. Aparajita about the damaged roads and problems of the farmers and handed over her a memorandum.
Kaithal DC Dr. Aparajita assured the United Kisan Morcha that she had recently visited the roads and Bhakra Canal of Chika area and will soon get a tender floated to get them repaired . The demands of the tenants were also placed before the DC and she assured that the forms are being filled now and the proceedings are going on.The farmers were assured of solution of local issues like repairing the roads and removing the stray animals entering the fields. .
The farmers other demands included Compensation for the Kharif 2025 crops destroyed due to excessive rains, waterlogging and floods. compensation for the crops infected with insects and virus.. The roads damaged by the flood of 2023 should be built on priority basis. Permanent arrangements for drainage of water should be made by issuing a special budget for the villages which have the problem of water logging. Along with this, a master plan should be prepared to protect the flood affected areas from the devastation caused by floods and should be implemented in these areas in a timely manner. The farm leaders also expressed anger over loot of farmers in paddy crop/high level investigation of paddy coming from outside should be conducted
. Financial assistance/bonus etc. should be given to the farmers to compensate for the loss caused to the farmers due to not getting the MSP declared by the government on the Kharif crops. pending compensation for rain, hailstorm, waterlogging, frost, fire etc. in Kaithal district of the state should be released. There should be a ban on black marketing of fertilizer.
