Two Separate Minor Abduction Cases Registered in Phagwara

PHAGWARA: In two separate incidents reported on the same day, Phagwara City Police have registered cases under Section 127(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following complaints regarding the alleged abduction and wrongful confinement of two minor girls. Both cases involve unidentified accused, and search operations have been initiated to trace the missing children.

SP Phagwara Madhvi Sharma while confirming it told tht in the first case, registered on Wednesday, the complainant Ram Prasad, resident of Sabzi Mandi, Phagwara, approached the police stating that his minor granddaughter, had allegedly been taken and kept at an undisclosed location by an unknown individual. Acting on his statement, City Police Phagwara formally registered the case and began investigation proceedings.

In a separate incident a complainant Nikki, wife of Ravi Kumar, a resident of Jalandhar Cantonment, lodged a complaint alleging that her minor daughter had also been taken by an unidentified person and confined at an unknown place. Based on her statement, City Police Phagwara recorded the case under the relevant legal provisions and initiated efforts to trace the girl.

SP Madhvi confirmed that both matters are being treated with utmost seriousness due to the involvement of minors. Teams have been constituted to gather intelligence, examine local CCTV footage, and track possible leads. Cops are also coordinating with neighboring districts to widen the search network.
