KAITHAL: Municipal Employees Union Haryana protested with stitched black ribbons and carrying up side down brooms in Kaithal to protest against the non fulfilment of promise by local bodies and urban development minister Haryana Vipul Goel.
The demonstration was held at the fire station, Pehowa Chowk under the chairmanship of Block Head Mahendra Kumar Bidlan. The program was conducted by Block Secretary Vicky Tank. On this occasion, State vice President Rajendra Sinand, State Chief Organizer and SKS District Head Shivcharan and Central Committee member Jayaprakash said that the government is ignoring the problems of sanitation and fire brigade employees. The memorandum was submitted on 22 June, the Chief Minister's Office, the residence of Cabinet Minister Krishna Bedi on 23 June and on June 29 at the residence of Minister Vipul Goyal.
The minister assured the solution in a week, but no action was taken even after a month. The protesters accused the government of indifference to the Dalit employees, saying that the central and state governments are promoting anti -people economic policies, leading to increasing inflation and unemployment. Major demands include the minimum salary of ₹ 27, 000, regularisation of contractual employees, permanent recruitment to vacant posts, old pension and 8th pay commission. The organization warned that if the demands are not met, the movement would be intensified. The upcoming programs include gradual hunger strike on 20-21 August, memorandum to all MLAs on 10-11 September, demonstrations at district headquarters on 26 September and huge demonstrations at the Chief Minister Camp Office on 18 October. Even if the solution is not done then the statewide agitation will be announced.
