DHARAMSALA: The Himachal Pradesh government has relieved Shalini Agnihotri from her post as Superintendent of Police (SP) Kangra, following her appointment to a central deputation. She will now serve as Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Union Ministry of Education.
The orders for her deputation were issued by Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena. The Central Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) had assigned her to the new post on May 28. Agnihotri, a 2012 batch IPS officer, will serve in the central role for a period of four years.
Prior to her posting in Kangra, Shalini Agnihotri had served as SP Mandi and is known for her administrative efficiency and public outreach.
In the interim, the state government has given the additional charge of SP Kangra to Ashok Ratna, the current SP of Police District Nurpur. Ratna is a 2017 batch IPS officer.
This reshuffling comes as part of routine administrative changes and is aimed at ensuring continuity in district-level policing.
