KAITHAL: During Investigation of a case of cheating of Rs 5.41 lakh in the name of sending a youth to US, ASI Rampal under guidance of inspector Om Parkash arrested accused Vikramjit resident of Amritsar Punjab and Krishna Kumar resident Pehowa district Kurukshetra.
According to the complaint of Mahabir, a resident of village Karoda, his son Monu, who was living in the UK, wanted to go to America. For this work, Krishna Kumar, a resident of village Jaurasi Kalan district Kurukshetra, demanded Rs 24 .50 lakh , promising to send monu to US.
As demanded by the accused, the complainant deposited a total of Rs 5 . 41 lakh in the bank account of Vikramjit, resident of Amritsar in installments. Even after taking the money, the accused neither got the work done nor returned the amount. A case was filed in police station Pundri. Rs 1.66 lakh were recovered from the possession of the accused. The accused had already returned 1 .45 lakh to the complainant.
