DHARAMSHALA: In a major development for the tourism sector, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) will now operate from the historic Kashmir House in Dharamshala, announced R.S. Bali, Chairman of HPTDC and Vice Chairman of the Tourism Development Board (Cabinet Rank), during a press interaction in Nagrota.
Tourism Corporation Managing Director Rajiv Kumar and Assistant General Manager Kailash Thakur were also present on the occasion.
Bali informed that this will serve as a temporary office for HPTDC until a permanent location is finalized. He called it a moment of pride for Kangra district, describing the shift as a significant gift for the region.
“We are committed to developing Kangra as the tourism capital of Himachal Pradesh, and this move is a step in that direction, ” he said, expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister for his vision and support.
Bali highlighted several key initiatives under the state government's vision for Kangra's tourism transformation, including:
The construction of a world-class zoo at Bankhandi,
Installation of India’s largest musical fountain at Nagrota,
And multiple other schemes in the pipeline aimed at boosting regional tourism.
