UIET Students Win First Prize and Cash Award of Rs. 30,000 at IIITM Gwalior Fest

CHANDIGARH: Students from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, have brought laurels to the University by winning the first prize in the 15 kg category of the Robowars Competition at INFOTSAV’25 — the prestigious annual technical fest of Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM), Gwalior. 

The team, named Team Abhedya, clinched the top position and secured a cash prize of Rs. 30, 000 at the event held from 10th to 12th October 2025 at IIITM Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Teams from across India participated in the national-level robotics contest, which tested innovation, mechanical design, and control systems in combat robotics.

The winning team, consisting of Aryan Sahu, Jatin, Sarthak Saxena, Pershant, Udit Saini, Mitanshu Singh, Ghanshyam Kumar, and Hansika Sharma, demonstrated exceptional technical prowess, teamwork, and creativity. Their combat robot, designed and built entirely at UIET, performed with remarkable strength and precision during the competition rounds. 

Guided by Prof. Shankar Sehgal, the team received appreciation from the organisers and judges for its engineering excellence and strategic innovation.
