Ex-student and Professor of Practice at GNDU, Attorney Jaspreet Singh becomes the voice of the Sikh community in America

AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar proudly acknowledges the achievements of its distinguished alumnus Jaspreet Singh, Attorney-at-Law (USA), who has recently been elected to the Governing Council of the State of New Jersey. 

Sharing details of his recent engagements, Jaspreet Singh informed that he held a series of highly successful and substantive meetings in New Jersey and New York with senior political and administrative leaders. In New Jersey, he met members of the Transition Team of Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill and also had a constructive interaction with the outgoing Governor Phil Murphy. He further met former North Carolina Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Roy Cooper. 

In New York, Jaspreet Singh held an important meeting with Governor Kathy Hochul. He also hosted the New York Attorney General Letitia James at his office, where she interacted with leading Sikh representatives. The Managing Committee of the Sikh Cultural Society of New York, the largest Sikh Gurdwara in the region, was present, and a range of issues concerning the Sikh community and broader public interest were discussed. 

Congratulating the alumnus, the Vice-Chancellor of GNDU, Dr. Karamjeet Singh, said that the University takes immense pride in the growing national and international stature of its alumni. He noted that Jaspreet Singh’s election to the Governing Council of New Jersey and his engagement with top leadership in the US reflect the values of leadership, public service, and global citizenship that GNDU seeks to instill in its students. He added that such achievements strengthen the University’s global connect and serve as an inspiration for students and young alumni.
