CHANDIGARH: Marking a significant milestone, the Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED) and Tech Mahindra Foundation (TMF) commemorated 10 successful years of their collaborative journey in skill development and youth empowerment.

The partnership, formalized in 2015 through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the then CEO of TMF, Ms. Loveleen Kakkar, IAS, has grown into a transformative initiative that has empowered thousands of youth with job-oriented skills and employment opportunities.

Over the past decade, RCED under the TMF initiative has trained candidates in multiple trades across its Chandigarh and Mohali locations. These include Office Administration and Finance and Accounting Executive (Tally) in Chandigarh, and A.C. Refrigeration, Electrician, and Sewing Machine Operator in Mohali.

At the Chandigarh centre alone, 2, 006 candidates have been trained, with an impressive placement rate of 1, 598. Many trainees have also embarked on entrepreneurial ventures, supported by RCED’s continuous guidance and mentoring. With strong industry linkages, RCED has successfully built partnerships with over 625 companies across the Tricity, offering candidates robust placement support and career opportunities.

As part of the 10-year celebration, a distinguished delegation from Tech Mahindra Foundation visited RCED, Chandigarh. The team included Mr. Chetan Kapoor (CEO, TMF), Mr. S.A. Sayeed (Regional Head – North), and Mr. Nitish Sharma (Location Manager, Chandigarh).

During the visit, Mr. Chetan Kapoor expressed heartfelt appreciation for RCED’s unwavering commitment and exceptional execution. “Every visit to this centre feels like coming home to Tech Mahindra itself, ” he remarked, applauding the RCED team for making the Chandigarh project a benchmark of success within the Foundation’s nationwide initiatives.

Mr. Paramjit Singh, Director, RCED, along with his dedicated team, extended warm gratitude to Tech Mahindra Foundation for its continuous support, trust, and shared vision. “This partnership has not just delivered skill development but has truly transformed lives, ” he said.

The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both organizations to continue this impactful journey, scale new heights in skill development, and further strengthen their joint mission to empower youth and build a stronger, self-reliant India.
