Beware of fake CBI, police officer, ED or custom officer on the phone, you can be victim of cyber fraud: SP Aastha Modi

KAITHAL: Superintendent of Police Aastha Modi said that if a person claims to be a police officer, ED or C.B.I. officer and demands the money through online medium, then be careful because by doing this you can be a victim of cyber fraud. No government employee or officer demands money through online medium and if anyone is doing this, then it is definitely a cyber criminal who wants to make you a victim of cyber fraud. At present, people are being made victims of cyber fraud by adopting different ways by cyber criminals.

In such a situation, it is important that the common people be careful and do not transfer the money on the demand of unknown person.

The SP said that if the common people fall prey to cyber fraud, then immediately contact the helpline number 1930 so that the amount of cyber fraud can be freezed immediately. Cyber thugs threaten by calling the victim and the phone call is said to be transferred to the CBI officer. Cyber thugs By issuing fake arrest warrants as an officer, they intimidate and threaten the victim. The victim gets nervous after seeing the fake arrest warrant and according to his instructions, transfer the money to the account and becomes a victim of cyber fraud. Apart from this, cyber thugs claim to call from the airport or other place and call the victim and tell a parcel booked containing intoxicating substance in his name and intimidate the victim .

Cyber thugs share false information of the parcel with the victim/woman. In the parcel, clothes, laptops, credit cards, passports and drugs etc. are told of sending such items through any courier service abroad. Cyber thugs repeatedly intimidate their victims posing as police officer or a fake ID of a cyber police, threatening to arrest and grab money. She said that if there is cyber fraud with any person, do not panic, immediately file a complaint on the cyber helpline number 1930 or in the nearest police station .
