AMRITSAR: International Blood Donor Day was organized by Red Cross Society, here today in collaboration with State Bank of India , KVIEWS and District Administration as per the directions of Mrs. Sakshi Sahni, Deputy Commissioner , Amritsar .
The chief guest of this function, Major Amit Sarin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development), in his address, said that all the blood donors are being given a million rupees on this day of service to humanity and along with this he said that blood donation is a great donation. Therefore, we all want to donate blood so that the lives of Caesar, Thalassemia and other blood-needing patients can be saved. Along with this, the chief guest praised Mr. Rajesh Katha, Mr. Kamal Agarwal, State Bank of India and the NGO team.
Advocate Rajiv Madan, Deputy Advocate General , Punjab, was a prominent presence in this function and he presided over the function and specially appealed to social service organizations and youth clubs to donate blood.
The chief organizer of this program, Mr. Samson Masih , Executive Secretary , Red Cross, welcomed all the blood donors and guests and said that today is being celebrated all over the world with the support of the World Health Organization, Red Cross and Blood Transfusion so that the needy do not face shortage of blood.
On this occasion, Dr. Parminderjit Singh (Cardiac Doctor) , Dr. Gursharan Singh , Dr. Daljit Kaur , Dr. Roz and their team were specially honored and along with this, blood donors Mr. Bikramjit Singh , Mrs. Baljit Kaur , Mr. Sukhwinder Singh , Mr. Rajesh Sidana were also honored.
On this occasion, 31 blood donors donated blood. On this occasion, Shri Rajesh Katha, Chief Manager , State Bank of India thanked all the guests and blood donors.
