AMRITSAR : An expert talk on Recent Trends in Analytical Instrumentation Research was organized at Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology, Amritsar jointly by ISTE Student Chapter and SCRS Chapter. Dr. Manju Bala, Director, welcomed the resource person Dr. Shatendra K. Sharma, a Former DRDO Scientist, NBA Advisor and Director, University Science Instrumentation Centre, JNU, Delhi). She said that the purpose of such talks was to enlighten and motivate the faculty towards the latest research trends. She said such lectures acquaint the faculty about the modern research techniques and ways to overcome the current environmental problems.
Dr. Sharma discussed about the various techniques related to nano-material research viz: XRD, FITR, XRF, TEM, AFM. He also discussed about the various applications of all of these techniques in the light of material sciences, minerals, clay analysis etc. He discussed about the applications of nanotechnology and techniques in the field of medical sciences, agriculture and civil engineering. He shared his research experience and various research ideas as a former scientist of DRDO. Dr. Jugraj Singh, Dean, Academics extended the vote of thanks. Later token of gratitude was presented to the Chief Guest by Director Dr. Manju Bala.
