AMRITSAR: Khalsa University (KU) recently organized a comprehensive educational workshop through the Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics with the support of Principal Dr. Surinder Kaur. The workshop focused on enhancing students' awareness of health, nutrition, and dietetics concepts.
A special mention goes to Seraphine Paul, Preeti Malhi, and Sukhdeep Kaur from Marigold School, who played a pivotal role in coordinating the visit and brought 50 enthusiastic students from grades 11 and 12 (Non-Medical, Medical, and Commerce streams) to Khalsa University. Their participation provided the students with excellent academic exposure and insights into various departments, infrastructure, and future educational opportunities.
The workshop was enriched by the presence of Dr. Manbir Kaur, Head of the Department of Sciences, who guided several academic activities across departments. A key highlight of the day was the Nutrition Counselling Campaign, where students got their nutritional profiles assessed and learned about undernutrition, overnutrition, and the importance of balanced diets.
The smooth coordination and success of the event were made possible by the dedicated efforts of the event coordinators: Komal Sharma, Mini Sharma, Kamaldeep Kaur, and Pooja. The event served as a dynamic platform for academic interaction, skill development, and awareness building, contributing to the holistic growth of the participating students and preparing them for future academic pursuits.
