SGPC invites Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for 350th martyrdom centenary celebrations

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has invited Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Aditya Nath Yogi to participate in the celebrations to be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib to mark the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.

A delegation led by Dharam Prachar Committee member Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhishek met Chief Minister Aditya Nath Yogi yesterday.

Meanwhile, a letter was handed over to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami to participate in the centenary celebrations being held at Sri Anandpur Sahib. Along with this, the delegation informed the Chief Minister about the Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the martyrdom centenary that has started from Assam, which will culminate at Sri Anandpur Sahib via Uttar Pradesh along with other states of India.

The delegation that met the Chief Minister included Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhishek, member of Dharam Prachar Committee, S. Brijpal Singh, in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Sikh Mission Hapur, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, President of Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Yahiyaganj Lucknow, and S. Parvinder Singh, member of Uttar Pradesh Minorities Commission.

Giving information in this regard, Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhishek said that letters are being sent to prominent personalities across the country to participate in the 350th martyrdom anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji in November

He said that Chief Minister Shri Aditya Nath Yogi, while assuring the SGPC of participation in the celebrations being held at Sri Anandpur Sahib, has also expressed his commitment to officially welcome the Nagar Kirtan in the state, assuring that proper arrangements will be made in Uttar Pradesh during the Shaheed Nagar Kirtan.

He said that the Chief Minister has given the responsibility of all arrangements related to Nagar Kirtan in Uttar Pradesh to the Minister of State of Uttar Pradesh Government, S. Baldev Singh Aulakh.

He also said that the Nagar Kirtan will be warmly welcomed and respected throughout Uttar Pradesh.
