MOHALI: The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great respect and enthusiasm at Shamrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, within the school campus. On this occasion, Narinder Singh Gill, a renowned businessman from Prince George (Canada) and a key contributor to the establishment of Shamrock School, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Chairman of Shamrock and Oakfields Group of Schools, A.S. Bajwa, Principal Prineet Sohal, members of the school management, teachers, students, and parents.
The program commenced with an inspiring address by the Head Girl, followed by the rendition of the patriotic song “Vande Mataram.” Thereafter, the Chief Guest unfurled the National Flag, and the atmosphere resonated with patriotism as the National Anthem was sung.
A special highlight of the event was the inauguration of the newly revised Vision and Mission of the school, reflecting its commitment to holistic education and strong moral values. During the cultural program, students presented patriotic songs, poems, speeches, and a thought-provoking play based on democracy. Additionally, students showcased their talent through a special video presentation and captivating dance performances.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Mr. A.S. Bajwa stated that the school’s objective is to nurture young individuals who are not only academically strong but also responsible citizens who respect the constitutional values of the nation. He emphasized that Republic Day reminds us of our rights as well as our duties.
Principal Ms. Praneet Sohal, in her address, highlighted constitutional values such as justice, freedom, equality, and fraternity. She remarked, “The school’s new Vision and Mission symbolize our renewed commitment towards the bright future and moral development of our students. We will continue to strive to make our students knowledgeable and socially responsible citizens.
