PHAGWARA: An 80-year-old woman died after falling while boarding a bus at the Dudwindi bus stop in Sultanpur Lodhi . The victim, identified as Krishna Kaur, wife of Swarn Singh and a resident of Mothanwal village, reportedly slipped while trying to board the bus. She fell to the ground, and one of the bus’s tyres ran over her leg, fracturing the bone.

CHANDIGARH: Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh on Thursday reviewed the ongoing development works in Sultanpur Lodhi and issued strict instructions to the concerned officials to ensure that all work, in preparation for the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, is completed by November 10.

CHANDIGARH: Accepting Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s request for special trains for Sultanpur Lodhi to meet the rush of pilgrims expected there during the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Ministry of Railways has decided to run 14 special intra-state and long distance inter-state trains connecting the historic town from November 1, 2019.

CHANDIGARH: The central government has released the first advance installment, amounting to Rs 27.11 crore, from its share of the funds earmarked for the Sultanpur Lodhi Smart City project, slated for launch on the historic occasion of the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has decided to arrange free visit for students of the State to the Holy City of Sultanpur Lodhi on the 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. After presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements for the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations here today, the Tourism & Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi while disclosing this directed the Transport Department to make all necessary arrangements for the visit of students to the Holy City.

NEW DELHI: The Centre will initiate work on the infrastructure development of Sultanpur Lodhi as proposed by the Punjab Government at the earliest, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday.
