First step towards becoming a smart city of Sultanpur Lodhi, unique identification numbers issued to each property

SULTANPUR LODHI: On the occasion of the 551st birth anniversary of the first Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Punjab Government has started the work of issuing unique identity numbers to every house and property in the city of Sultanpur Lodhi.  This is the first step towards making the city a smart city.  Mr Navtej Singh Cheema MLA of Sultanpur Lodhi Constituency and Mrs Deepti Uppal Deputy Commissioner launched the distribution work cards today.

 Disclosing this here today Mr Cheema said that the Punjab government was developing the city dedicated to the 551st birth anniversary of the first Guru Nanak.  The city is now being developed as a smart city.  Under this project, all kinds of facilities would be provided to the city dwellers.  The issuance of this number to every house and property will not only curb illegal occupancies but will also keep the administration informed about the actual condition of each house and property.

 Deputy Commissioner Mrs Deepti Uppal said that under the Smart City project now unique numbers are being affixed to every house and property.  About 6500 unique numbers will be issued in the city.  The work of numbering has started from today.  Property is being issued a card and a sticker.  The card will remain with the head of the family while the sticker will be affixed outside his home.  This card/number can be searched anywhere on Google.  The card/number is accompanied by the owner's name, address, property details and type, contact number, the total number of floors, household members, construction status, whether or not someone lives in the home.

 Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr Rahul Chaba and Mr Rajiv Verma, SDM Mrs Charumita, Municipal Council President Mr Ashok Mogla and others were present on the occasion.
