Kaithal Rice mill gutted in fire. Stocks of Rice, Paddy worth crores reduced to ashes

KAITHAL: A fire broke out at a rice mill , Jeevisha Foods Private Limited at around 9 pm in the nearby village Barot, causing loss of crores of rupees. Rice , Bardana and stocks were gutted in devastating fire .. According to mill owner Amarjeet Chhabra, this fire has caused a loss of five to six crores. The fire was so buzzing that eight vehicles of fire brigade were deployed to control.

Naib Tehsildar Achin said that as soon as he got information about fire , he reached the spot and later the concerned department was informed. Further action was taken, at 11 o'clock in the night, the Rural feeder power supply was maintained by XEN Pundri, so that the fire brigade vehicles continued to get water without any interruption and it was very helpful in controlling the fire. Giving information about the damage caused by the fire in the mill, Mill owner Amarjeet Chhabra said that he suffered loss of 5- 6 crores as stocks of paddy, rice and gunny bags were gutted in fire ., He thanked almighty that there was no loss of life in this incident.

fire officer Utkarsh said that as soon as the fire was reported, he reached the spot. After reaching on the spot he realised fire has spread fast and it was not possible to control the fire . After this, he contacted the nearby fire stations in Siwan, Dhand, Pundri, Rajaund, Kalayat and from there fire tenders were summoned. Eight vehicles of the department worked to extinguish the fire continuously throughout the night. The walls were also demolished with the help of JCB machines due to excessive fire. The fire officer Utkarsh said that as the fire tenders were able to get regular water supply it helped in extinguishing the fire.
