KAITHAL: While investigating the case of murder of a youth during a fight in village Atela during the year 2024, the absconding accused Lakhan, resident of village Chakku Ladana, was arrested from Cheeka Road Kaithal by the team of ASI Jaipal of Sadar Police Station.
Police spokesperson said that as per the complaint of Rameshwar, resident of village Kila Jafargarh in Jind district, his 21-year-old son Rahul had come to Deepak's maternal uncle's village Atela accompanied by Deepak on May 21, 2024 .
On May 23, when he reached Kaithal Government Hospital after receiving the information about murderous attack on his son Rahul but he was found dead due to injuries sustained in a fight in Atela . Deepak, Sagar, Balwan, Narma, all residents of Atela, were found injured. According to the complaint, there was a fight between Atela residents Lakhan, Arjun, Gurcharan and the above injured persons over some dispute. Rahul also got injured in the same fight due to which he died. Following this incident a case was registered in Sadar police station. Investigation revealed that there was an altercation between the two parties, which led to a fight. The accused Arjun had already been arrested in the case.
The accused Lakhan, brother of Arjun who was continuously absconding and remained underground to avoid police arrest, was declared a PO by the Court on 27 October 2025. The accused was sent to judicial custody as per the court order.
